The 读写能力: Birth to Grade 12 graduate program is designed for teachers who wish to acquire a master’s degree to teach birth to grade 12 literacy.

This program leads to a Literacy Certification, which equips you with the skills to teach in a number of areas as a reading specialist, 识字的教练, 作为一名课堂老师.

Admissions

  • Initial certification (or pending) teaching certificate in elementary and secondary education. (Candidates admitted prior to initial certification have a grace period of one semester from the start of their program to complete their certification since this program leads to professional certification).
  • Official transcripts of all prior college  coursework (3.00/4.00).

State law requires EC to collect immunization records from students taking six or more credit hours in any term.

  • Students will gain experience working with elementary and secondary teachers and 识字的教练es.
  • Field-based experiences are integrated into the program in the fall and winter terms. 夏天 practicum options are also available.
